A buzz is being created as:
Lanta becomes a Whaleshark Mecca !
The recent new moon brought no shortage of action to the waters surrounding Ko Lanta, with lucky Scubafish divers enjoying daily Whale Shark encounters & even one day with both a Manta Ray & a Whale Shark on the same dive site.
It is thought that the new moon triggered a coral spawning event in the region that attracted Whalesharks from far & wide, but whatever the reason, Scubafish customers were understandably delighted to enjoy regular close encounters with these gentle giants.
Hin Daeng & Ko Haa were the main focus of the action, with no less than six separate encounters over the space of just four days, including one incredible day at Hin Daeng when a Manta Ray put in an appearance as well. March and April are famous for Whaleshark sightings in the Andaman Sea, but no-one can remember quite so many Whaleshark sightings in such a short period of time. And with another new moon fast approaching, Scubafish staff & divers are all hoping for another spree of magical Whaleshark encounters…
